Why am I such a sap?!

I just saw this on tv.
On a Friday night.  Alone.
And I might have teared up...actually cried.

Anything with kiddos does this to me.
Can't wait for my own.

MAC Must-Haves

As winter arrives, my tan slowly but surely disappears (what little tan I had, anyway).  And as you know, when your tan fades, your make up no longer matches your skin, giving you a run for your money when you have to replace just about everything.  That's where I've been lately.  It's a difficult place for me...replacing leads to adding to the collection.  More eyeshadow?  Why not!  New moisturizer?  Sure!
It's kind of a problem.
That being said, here are a few of my recent favorites.

Prep + Prime: Magic before make up. SERIOUSLY.  My foundation has never looked more even.  But I only got a sample size :(  Time to replace.

Studio Moisture Cream: My all time favorite moisturizer.  It's the only moisturizer that doesn't make my skin feel greasy.  My skin feels hydrated and has a healthy glow.  Use morning and night!

Paint Pots: Eyeshadow straight from heaven.  I use my Bare Studies paint pot as a primer for regular eyeshadows because it goes on really creamy.  Once you use paint pots, there's no turning back.  And there are more than four colors folks, don't you worry.  My next purchase: Indianwood, gorgeous metallic brown...I'm too excited.

Plush Lash: My eyelashes love MAC mascara.  This mascara plumps, curls, and volumizes all in one, while hydrating your lashes.  Imagine that, no more drying out your lashes with cheap drugstore mascara!  That would be the dream, wouldn't it?

You're welcome in advance, because y'all will be thanking me later!  Now you know just what to put on your Christmas list :)

Times are Hard

I honestly don't know if anyone will feel this the way that I do.
But I hope you can.

Home Is Where the Heart Is

I'm going home in THREE DAYS, y'all.
I can't wait.  Texas means warm weather, momma's baking, long-time friends, and back to work!
Dallas has my heart.
Is three days too early to start packing?
Oh, and I might be just a little excited to do this again...'tis the season!

Don't Delay, It's Getting Late

"His concern is for the faith at which you finally arrive, not the hour of the day in which you got there."

Oh, Elder Holland.  You always know just what to say.

It's Better to Look Up

This used to be something I lived by.  Lately I've been getting torn down easily, and most of the time there isn't a good reason for it.  I have always believed that your happiness is your choice, but I seem to have forgotten that.

There was a talk given in General Conference a while back by Carl B. Cook.  He speaks of an encounter he had with Thomas S. Monson.  Elder Cook was feeling burdened and discouraged when the prophet gave him these words of wisdom: "It is better to look up". Elder Cook reflected on this experience:

In order to be guided in life's journey and have the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost, we must have a "hearing ear" and a "seeing eye," both directed upward.  We must act on the direction we receive.  We must look up and step up.  And as we do, I know we will cheer up, for God wants us to be happy.

So let's choose happy.  Let's look up and step up.  Stay up late, sleep in, be spontaneous, laugh too much, spend time with family, be childish and silly.  Remember what is truly important.  Life is meant to be enjoyed, and it is better to look up.
